Talk “The monk seal in Porto Santo”

The IFCN held today in the City Hall of Porto Santo (thanks to its support) a session to raise awareness of the importance of the monk seal, and report on the situation of the young female who has found on the beaches of Porto Santo a place to rest.

This initiative also aimed to involve the resident community and tourists from the Island of Porto Santo, in the initiative to monitor this seal. In this way, a group of 14 volunteers will be integrated tomorrow into the team that seeks to ensure that this young seal is not disturbed, as well as to inform and attend to all the people who are passing through the place, demonstrating an enormous curiosity and interest for the seal.
